12-year-old Laura was just a normal girl from Seattle when her mother decided to move to a mysterious town in the Midwest. The moment they arrive in their new home, hundreds of frogs rain down from the sky. Her quirky new neighbor has a house full of knickknacks and odd tiny creatures beckoning from the shadows, and there’s a terrible curse on the town of Deluge that makes every summer storm a life-threatening event.
On her first day of school, Laura discovers a painting in the school library that has a woman trapped inside, and watches a local cat named Baxter vanish in front of her. As the mysteries unfold, the town of Deluge never stops surprising in amazing and terrifying ways.
